With a 20-year career in strategic communications, Anisa Sullivan Jimenez believes that being an effective communicator is the most important skill for any leader to hold. She currently serves as Vice President of Program and Community for Leading Now, overseeing leadership development, communications, and partnerships for the nonpartisan, nonprofit that supports more than 300 superintendents.
Prior to her current position, she spent 15 years as the Director of Communications for two different school systems in Georgia, worked in public relations at the University of Georgia, and was a columnist for the Athens Banner-Herald.
A native of Starkville, Mississippi, she is a “Bulldog” twice over with a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Mississippi State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Georgia. She earned her APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) in 2020. She also holds a certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University.
She lives in Athens, Georgia with her husband and they are the proud parents of two children.
